it’s not clear what other properties—metaphysical or otherwise—the drink may hold.

Chichen Itza, in MacArthur Park, Los Angeles. The Cochinita Pibil has clearly been spoken for.

A Puerto Rican restaurant in Chicago sandwiches delicious meat between flattened plantains in what’s called a Jibarito.

Central BBQ, Memphis. This dish, unlike the one described above, doesn’t merit a compositional account.
