Home CV Swann Lab Group Personal MTurk Guide About me I'm a 5th year graduate student studying social and personality psychology at UT Austin. I primarily work with Bill Swann. I have a variety of interests in self and group processes. Outside of school, I play soccer and try to keep my garden from melting during the Texas summer. Thanks for visiting. -- Michael

1/18/12: MTurk How-To Guide updated. I’ve added quite a bit to the guide and reorganized much of it. Amazon has been updating some of the requester features and generally making it more user-friendly. I find this promising – this grand crowdsourcing experiment seems to have some legs. Cheers turking, Michael. CV updated too. 1/20/11: MTurk How-To Guide updated. 6/1/10: MTurk How-To Guide updated. I added a couple bits in the Other Issues section about limitations on who can be a Requester (currently only US Requesters allowed) and about creating your own inclusion criteria. 5/26/10: MTurk How-To Guide created (see MTurk Guide link above). Also see Buhrmester, Kwang, and Gosling (2011) The MTurk How-To Guide is an in-progress piece that I hope to be updating as I learn more about the site (on my own and from colleagues' comments). If you have any comments, questions, or concerns about the guide, please send me an e-mail. The Buhrmester, Kwang, and Gosling (2011) piece is a short introduction and empirical evaluation of Mechanical Turk for social science purposes (to appear in Perspectives on Psychological Science). 4/23/10: Site created
