Eligibility
There are three categories of students for SISP:
- U.S./Canadian pre-doctoral students. Students enrolled in graduate programs in the U.S. and Canada, who are who are SPSP members and who are enrolled in their second through fifth years of graduate study at the time of application are eligible (first-year graduate students are not eligible). Students studying social-psychological topics are eligible, whether they are enrolled in graduate programs within traditional psychology departments or in other academic areas (e.g., business schools).
- Pre-doctoral students from the EAESP countries. A limited number of students from the countries represented by the EAESP will be accepted. These students will be selected and offered partial financial support by the EAESP, under procedures that it will establish and publicize. Contact the EAESP for further details.
- Pre-doctoral students from outside the U.S., Canada, and the EAESP area. A limited number of students from outside the U.S. and Canada, from countries other than the European countries represented by the EAESP, will also be accepted. Scholarship funds will be available to help with travel expenses for these students.
The criteria for selecting students are: academic merit, promise as a researcher and diversity, which includes gender, ethnicity, year in graduate school, area of interest and graduate department. The committee will seek to admit students from different graduate programs). Another goal is to have an equal number of students in each of the courses.
