Dr. Younger's major research interests are in infant cognition. The primary focus of her research has been on the development of categorization abilities in infants. She is also interested in relations between categorization and language.

Current investigations focus on

  1. infants' developing ability to form and represent more than one category at a time
  2. task constraints on infant categorization
  3. perceptual processing biases as they relate to individual stylistic variation in early language acquisition.
