Caitlin moved to Austin in the fall of 2004 to begin working in the Infant Cognition Lab at UT. She graduated from Wake Forest University in May 2003 with a B.A. in psychology. She then worked as a research coordinator at Case Western Reserve University. There she was involved in researching dietary adherence in children with chronic conditions such as type 1 and type 2 diabetes, phenylketonuria (PKU), obesity and hyperlipidemia. Some of Caitlin's other previous research includes studying cognitive abilities of older adults with Alzheimer's disease and mild cognitive impairment, animal behavior in dolphins and the effectiveness of an intervention for preschoolers. She is excited to be part of the Infant Cognition Lab where she is currently involved in a study of causal perception in infants and is developing a study on short-term memory. Her other research interests involve studying how different medical conditions such as Down syndrome and spina bifida affect cognition in infants. In her spare time, Caitlin enjoys playing with her dog, cooking, and doing anything outdoors.
