We are currently seeking participants to take part in two ongoing studies.
In one study, we are seeking pairs (or groups) of dog owners/participants who are able to rate the same dog (i.e., who know the same dog). You may take part in this study through the DPQ Study 4 website (http://survey.psy.utexas.edu/API/dpq4.php).
In another study, we are seeking individuals who are willing to rate the same dog at two separate points in time -- once now, and once in approximately one month. (These participants will be sent reminders after a month.) You may take part in this study through the DPQ Study 5 website (http://survey.psy.utexas.edu/API/dpq5.php).

This page is set up for participants and others who are interested in the status and results of our Dog Personality Questionnaire (DPQ). As we progress through the study, we will update this website periodically. If you have any questions, please send an e-mail to amanda@animalpersonality.org. We will do what we can to answer your questions, and to incorporate answers to frequently asked questions in this webpage.
The new, 75-item version of the DPQ is now being evaluated through Study 4 and Study 5. (We are currently seeking participants for both of these studies, as described above!) In Study 4, we are looking at how similarly two people rate the same dog if they do so independently. In Study 5, we are looking at how similarly one person rates a dog if asked to rate that dog twice, with one month between ratings.

We posted the new version of the DPQ on April 23rd, and, thanks to a lot of dog owners out there, we collected out target of 1,600-1,800 dogs in less than one week! Now, almost 3,000 dogs have been rated on the 102-item version of the DPQ. The questionnaire is still posted (link at the top of this page). However, we are analyzing the data that are already in and working on revising the questionnaire to create a shorter (less redundant!) one.

We are readying ourselves for a new round of data collection, using a brand new version of the DPQ. The new version of the DPQ is only 102-items long. Participants who complete the questionnaire online will, immediately upon submitting their ratings of their dogs, receive information about how their dogs scored on this version of the questionnaire!
