The Animal Personality Institute (API), founded in 2004, is an interdisciplinary organization for bringing together research scientists whose work contributes to understanding personality and temperament in non-human animals.  It is dedicated to building a stronger and integrative study of animal personality.

Objectives:

  • Promote dialogue between theoretical and applied work on animal personality
  • Provide a forum for communication among researchers, practitioners, and members of the public who are interested in the study of animal personality,
  • Foster research on animal personality,
  • Provide resources for researchers, practitioners, and members of the public,
  • Disseminate scientific research findings on animal personality.
