Danielle SoRelle-Miner, MPH E-mail: dsorelleminer@mail.utexas.edu Danielle was born in Houston, Texas and has lived most of her life there. She graduated from the University of Houston Downtown with a B.S. in psychology and has also acquired a Master’s degree in public health from the University of Texas School of Public Health. She is currently working as the project coordinator for the Sexual Abuse Treatment Study in the Sexual Psychophysiology Lab and is primarily responsible for conducting clinical assessments and telephone screenings. Danielle’s research interests involve adult women and how they view their bodies in the context of their lives. She has worked as a project coordinator on research studies that aimed to minimize health risk in different at-risk populations of women. Her thesis work examined how physical health ideals are communicated to women through popular health media. This research has been presented at several national conferences. Currently, Danielle is working on independent research in an effort to complete her Ph.D. in Human Development and Family Studies at Texas Tech University . She is currently working on a study that focuses on transitions in the body narratives of women who are currently recovering from an eating disorder. Her dissertation research will focus on role-related identity development in women who use their body for their work in the sex industry. She also has an interest in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level. Danielle has helped to conduct research that focused on young women’s experiences in a college courses on lifespan gender development. During the past two years she has taught a course on gender development over the lifespan at Texas Tech University in the Department of Human Development and Family Studies. She is currently teaching a course on family interactions over the lifespan in the division of Human Development and Family Sciences at the University of Texas at Austin. Danielle enjoys spending her free time with her husband, friends, family, and pets. In her copious spare time Danielle is an avid runner, biker, and reader. |
