ERP Studies Overview:

We are trying to find out what babies know about faces and how their brains respond to different types of faces. In our ERP studies babies view images of faces on a computer screen while wearing an elastic fabric cap that is used to make noninvasive recordings of brain activity. This allows us to measure brainwaves so that we can study how the brain works while it is processing information. The results of this research will have important implications for our understanding of how infants' brains process social information and how person perception and social behavior develop.
