Ira Iscoe, Ph.D., ABPP

Dr. Iscoe joined the University of Texas Psychology faculty in 1951. He was instrumental in developing the Clinical Training Psychology Program and its accreditation by the American Psychological Association. He served as the Director of the University of Texas Counseling and Psychological Center from 1968-78. He organized and developed the community program in 1972. He directed the Plan II Interdisciplinary program in 1981-86, and was director of the University of Texas Human Developmental and Family Institute until his retirement. Amongst his numerous awards have been the Harvard University Fellowship in Community Mental Health; President, TPA (1972); Visiting Scientists, Mental Health (1960); NIMH (1979-80); and Pro Bene Award (1993) from the college of Liberal Arts. He is active as a pro bono consultant to a number of community and state agencies and serves as a mentor to younger faculty.
