This project will be carried out as part of the honors thesis program in the
psychology department of the University. Here's a tentative description of the project. Past research has found that both women and
men find certain waist-to-hip ratios (WHR) attractive in the opposite sex. The "ideal" female WHR is approximately 0.7. Both men and women have indicated that line drawings of women with this WHR is
more attractive than higher WHR's. I would like to examine how women view and behave toward other women who have the ideal WHR (i.e. do they want to befriend them or claw their eyes out).
