Clinical depression is the most common of the psychiatric disorders. It is estimated that between 8% and 18% of the general population will experience at least one episode of clinical depression during their lifetime (Gotlib & Krasnoperova, 1998). Presently, there is no therapeutic procedure available for the prevention of relapse after depressive symptomatic recovery. Indeed, more than 80% of depressed individuals experience repeated episodes of depression throughout their lives. Such evidence illustrates the possibility of a vulnerability factor for the disorder (Gotlib & Krasnoperova, 1998).
