Harold Henry Chaput received his B.A. in Computer
Studies from Northwestern University in 1990. After working
at a startup company and the Institute for the Learning Sciences
(a research lab for designing educational software), he moved
to Austin to study in the doctoral program at the University
of Texas Department of Computer Sciences. He recently finished
his dissertation on infant cognitive development and its applications
to autonomous robotics. In 1997, he co-founded the Austin Museum
of Digital Art and served as president. In addition, Harold
was co-director of the UT Forum for Artificial Intelligence,
and sat on the steering committee of the UT Artificial Intelligence
Laboratory. He was also on the advisory board of the Griffin
School, a private high school for at-risk students, where he
taught Computer Programming, Art and Music History, and Web
Design.
