What about memory models?
Question
How much do we really need to know about connectionist (PDP) models and the SAM model of memory? -David Rumelhart
Answer
As I said before the first exam, use the lecture notes as a study guide. If there is something in the book, and I never mention it in class, then you are not going to be responsible for it on the exams. By that reasoning, the SAM model of memory is not something I am going to ask about.
I did talk about the PDP (or connectionist) models in class. However, I was pretty clear in class that all you really need to know about them is what we talked about in class. I hope that helps.
