Honors Research Project

SOCIOSEXUALITY
----------

My honors research project will investigate Romantic Interest as a Factor of Gender, Sociosexuality, Physical Attractiveness, and Romantic Involvement

Sociosexuality can be defined as the requirements necessary for one to enter into a sexual relationship.  There are two types of sociosexuality: restricted and unrestricted. Restricted sociosexuality requires relatively more investment from a partner before entering into a sexual relationship.

Unrestricted sociosexuality requires relatively less investment from the partner.

Physical attractiveness has played an important role in human behavior and preference.  Studies have shown that physically attractive people are preferred.  Contrary to popular belief, there is  a strong consensus on who is beautiful. (Dr. Judy Langlois has done extensive work in this area)

In my study, I would like to look at the effects physical attractiveness has on sociosexuality.  I'm trying to see if physical attractiveness really does change one's behavior.
