The Training Program

The Occupational Health Psychology training track at the University of Texas at Austin seeks to provide graduate students within psychology and related fields with the opportunity to learn more about this emerging area of study in an interdisciplinary research environment.

Graduate students may choose to minor in Occupational Health Psychology by completing a three-course minor consisting of the Seminar in Occupational Health Psychology, one of the two practicum courses, and one additional course related to Occupational Health Psychology (clik here for a list of courses).  To meet this minimal requirement, students would complete the Seminar in Occupational Health Psychology during their first year, an additional course meeting the minor requirement during each of their second and third years, and a practicum during their fourth year.

Students who are interested in careers in occupational health psychology are encouraged to complete a more concentrated program, involving the Seminar in Occupational Health Psychology, three additional courses in the minor sequence (including two interdisciplinary out-of-Department courses), and both of the practicum courses.  To meet this concentrated program, students would complete the Seminar in Occupational Health Psychology during their first year, three additional courses meeting the minor requirement during their second and third years, and the two practica during their fourth year.
