Department of Psychology. 

             PSY 394Q Seminar in Occupational Health Psychology (Holahan).  This seminar provides a comprehensive overview of the field of occupational health psychology from a stress and coping perspective. The seminar will convey the interdisciplinary nature of occupational health psychology and will emphasize positive models of disease prevention and health promotion. Discussion will cover: a) conceptualizing occupational stress and the mechanisms through which occupational stress affects employee health, b) methods in occupational stress research, and c) applications involving both individual-level and organizational-level interventions in occupational health psychology.   

Department of Kinesiology and Health Education.  

             HED 395 Health Promotion in Corporate Settings (Gottlieb).  This seminar focuses on the diffusion and implementation of health promotion programs in corporate settings, including cognitive factors associated with the adoption and implementation of health innovations. 

            HED 395 Theories of Health Behavior (Steinhardt).  This seminar focuses on a variety of health behavior issues relevant to health promotion and disease prevention in occupational settings, emphasizing the integration of theory, research, and practice. 

            HED 395 Adult Development, Aging, and Health (C. K. Holahan).  This seminar focuses on the interacting influences of biological, psychological, and social factors on health, with particular emphasis on individual difference factors related to age and gender. 

Department of Management Science and Information Systems. 

             MAN 385 Health Services Seminar (McDaniel).  This seminar focuses on cutting edge issues in health services, including a series of presentations by experts on current health services research and policy issues. 

Department of Communication Studies.

             CMS 386 Health Communication (Rimal).  This seminar focuses on communication concepts that are relevant to promoting healthy behaviors and on how behavioral theories can be used most effectively to change individuals' health behaviors. 

Lyndon Baines Johnson School of Public Affairs. 

             PA 388K Health Finance and Economics (Warner).  This seminar provides a policy-level understanding of the health system that will enhance the student’s capacity to function in the contemporary health care arena.  Issues discussed include insurance coverage, managed care, cost effectiveness, and worker's compensation. 

          Finally courses may also be taken through sociology and school of nursing.
